Mary Rose Shearer, the
granddaughter of the Fehlmann family who purchased Avoca Lodge in 1928, often
gives presentations on the history of Margaret Tobin Brown as well has the
history of the Fehlmann family.
Ms. Shearer has given presentations to various
schools, clubs and senior centers and is available as a keynote speaker.
The presentation lasts about one hour and
includes the history of Molly and J.J. Brown and how they acquired and lived on
their 250-acre country estate. Private family photos along with historic photos
of the Browns are shared along with a history of how the house was designed and
built and how Molly and J.J. entertained friends and family.
